Are ghosts real? What do they look like!?

I have always wondered.. My friends mom says she can can see them but you never know. I am more of a see it to believe it kinda girl but I really trust this woman (my friends mom). Maybe I will study them.

First of all, it is called a spirit. Ghosts are not real, spirits are. A spirit is the essence of a person, it is the soul of the individual. Sometimes this individual, after death, is not aware of what truly happened... Either that, or they are not ready to move on.

It is not always that they have a "look". Sometimes you can just feel them. It feels kind of like butterflies... or that instinctual feeling moms get.

It takes a special kind of person to see them. If you don't believe, you won't see because you'll just decide that it is lighting, or your eyes playing a trick. People who can see spirits are very intune with themselves, and those around them. There are practices to be able to see spirits... If you are not a natural, then there are books you can buy.

Energy does exist from a variety of sources, usually emotion. Strong emotions can leave their mark on a place or an object, seomtimes manifesting as a visual representation of a person's energy.

What a longwinded way of saying that there are some ghosts and some people can see them easily. Others never see them. There is no proof so compelling that it will convince the closed-minded skeptic, nor can the "true believer" be dissuaded.

I have studied a lot about them and never seen one.

I don't believe that ghost exist. I believe that humans can feel the memory of a person, particularly a loved one. And that can take on many forms, from a flickering light, to a chill wind through a house.

I think that the people who "see" ghosts are really sensing something different - the spirits and wishes of whoever is attached to the ghost. They are using an amazing ability to take cues from people, and explain those feelings of connection with a long dead loved one by "telling a ghost story". That ability to connect with a person really is a gift, just not a supernatural one.

We can't actually know what they look like because our vision is limited to this realm, but we can understand their nature. Science predicts that there are multiple dimensions. I've heard anywhere from 7 to 27.

Imagine a piece of paper. Now imagine a race of 2 dimensional stick people living on the paper. You (living in this three dimensional reality) see one of these stick people, and you say, "hey you!" the stick man looks around, but there's no one near him on the page. He thought he heard something, but he's not sure because most of the sound waves were moving perpendicular to his reality and so they were barely perceptible to his 2 dimensional ears. You get right next to his ear, and say, "Hey, I'm talking to you," he jumps at the sound of someone whispering in his ear. You push on the man against the paper. He feels an odd and unnerving sensation for which he has no ability to understand. You press yourself against the page, and a sort of shadow of yourself appears on the page. This is very much like the relationship which I believe we have with beings from the other realm. Whether or not this is exactly what is going on, it feels a lot like what is going on.

Imagine the relationship between our three dimensional existence and other higher dimensions based this visualization of the relation between our dimension and a two-dimensional reality. Now imagine that those two dimensional people had a part of them extending out into the three dimensional universe that they were mostly unaware of, but it could go anywhere along the two-dimensional surface. Likewise, I believe our spirit-selves have the ability to go anywhere and interact with anyone. I personally think that our spirit selves are at least 7 dimensional.

So it's impossible to answer your question because, what does a 7 dimensional being look like?

As for how they appear when they manifest in this realm, it usually harkens back to the incarnation where they had the connection which drew them to this haunting in the first place.

Oh, I just had an epiphany!

What if dreams are our spirit haunting someplace or someone? I'm going to go and post that as a question

Are ghosts real?

Is the essence within you real? The essence within that makes you something more than a mass of biological matter. What happens to the "essence" when the bio-mass ceases to function and dies?
Something does indeed exist within you, it's called a soul. If this soul is the essence of life, why shouldn't a spiritually sensitive lifeform be able to sense it's presence?

Yes they are! I started seeing them when I got in my mid 30's, and was afraid to tell anyone because I thought they would think I was a NUT (if somebody told ME that...that's the first thing I would have thought)...but I finally told my mom and come to find out she sees them and so did my grandmother...so...there ya go! Study them, learn new things......take the road less traveled!

Superstitious people often see ghosts. Non-superstitious people never see a ghost and never will. If you believe strong enough, and have a run-away imagination, you can see a lot of things that don't exist.

Just like with our world, the ghosts have many different looks. They may come in their earthly forms, the forms they had at the time of their death or depending on energy, they may come as an orb, a mist or other non-human-looking form.

Yes. They are real. I don't see them with my eyes, but I can see spirits in my mind when they are near me and want me to know they are there. My brother has seen them though - he said he saw "green people" when he was about 4 years old. I also had another friend who said he could see the spirit of my father, whom he had never met, and described him in detail to me. :)

yes, and they all look different some you cant even see it could just be a voice or a chill or they could move something. like jsut now i am serious as i am writing this and said ^^^^ something in my kitchen made a noise and no one else is home. but they cant hurt you not if you have Jesus and the strength to know they wont hurt you.
