I personally like Miele best. I know more than one household where a Miele washing machine is working without any trouble for 20 and more years. My mom's Miele is by now 24 years old and still working perfectly fine.
Other brands that have a good reputation - but are not sold in all countries - are all BSH brands like Bosch, Siemens, and Constructa.

By the way Miele is sold in USA as well. Their products just tend to seem expensive compared with US brands that will have less longevity.

i like lg. i have one that is a combination washer dryer....so it dries when it is done washing....no unloading then loading......great for having something done overnight ....wake up to dry clothes.....
