could I subsitute a zephyr 550 gas tank for another?

Sure.
But use a gasoline tank (not some makeshift) and only one from a reputable manufacturer. A gas fire from a fuel leak between your legs would be no fun at all, at all.

of course! thats what all these people who 'MODIFY' our bikes do. but take care where you get it done from and also the fact that you better use genuine tanks... spurious ones might jst be dangerous.
may B U cn post another question regarding where U cn gt the original zephyr 550 tanks in your area.
