Most video rental stores will buff the CD for a few seconds for you if you go in and ask them, this just buffs it so the scratches are all out. They use the buffer for dvds that skip, but it works the same on CDs. ( i used to work at one and we did it for people all the time.)
Good luck

I use a cotton ball dipped in alcohol... wipe from the middle towards the outside... then let dry... But if it's scratched then u might as well buy a new CD...

If you have scratches on it, get a little dab of toothpaste on your finger and use it to buff out the scratch. You can then use soap and water to wash off the toothpaste.

Water, vasaline, and something to clean it with minimal fibers on it always works for me, even video games.
