They have a very complex communication system with each other, we (humans) are trying to figure out what all the clicks and tones mean.
I think we have figured out the sound that corresponds to danger, play/fun, food, affection and I think pain.

Dolphins do use the high ranged clicks called echolocation to communicate to each other. Each dolphin has a different sound they make, and other wild dolphins in a pod can identify the dolphin. Echolocation is still not completely understood, but we know dolphins are highly intelligent because they can easily learn and be taught very complex tricks and shows (such as at sea world.) Many other animals use echolocation, such as bats, orcas, and even possibly the leopard seal. Echoloaction is mostly used to help see and find food in murky waters where it may be hard to see prey, or other dolphins - though it is proven it also used for communication, to what extent, we do not know.

Dolphin's talk is referred to "echo location." Have you ever visited a sea world and heard them making that clicking sound? Dolphins are some of the smartist animals in the world, and easily learn commands, remember faces, can travel long distances and show love for one another. Truly fascinating animals.

No only to eachother because they dont have voice boxes only noises but did u know that dolphins were once humans very long ago.sorry i did over answer the question.

Yea to each other, but they can usually understand up we are saying. They mostly go by signals for us. If you wanna hear a talking dolphin watch SeaQuest, their's talks. (It uses some kind of translater machine though but its kewl!)
