I worked for K-Mart many moons ago and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I started at the service desk and ended up in the office counting money and doing payroll. I never worked the floor but was friends with many of the people that did. We all had a great time. It really depends on the atmosphere because any place has the potential to be a good place to work but if you work for a bunch of butt's then it makes it difficult to go to work. But all in all I enjoyed my time with them and would do it again in a heartbeat if I could work with and for the same folks.

If things haven't changed you get paid in cash at the back of the store and have to walk out with your paycheck. It makes it hard not to spend it back in the store. Just something to keep in mind.

Not sure about working conditions, but all the Kmart stores around here went out of business a couple of years back. Now there is only 1 that I know of in the area, and it is like 30 miles down the road.

My sister worked there for about a year and she said she got pretty bored because nobody went there! They are all interested in Walmart and Target and the mall and all that stuff. I suggest: NO, dont work at Kmart because you'll start yawning right away, according to my sister.

I worked at K-Mart part time while I was in college. It was easy work, flexable hours, and it put some spending money in my pocket.
