I am a pilot, & I understand the term Airworthiness to mean the ability of an aircraft to safely carry out a flight. So if an aircraft is considered airworthy, then it is considered safe for flight operations. Whereas an aircraft that is not airworthy, is not safe for flight, and should remain on the ground.

The FARs have almost 3 pages in the index of parts having to do with airworthiness... Basically, the plane has to be safe to fly.

I'm guessing it has to do with content for radio, television, cable, etc. it would be criteria set forth by the producing entity that determines whether or not something is "airworthy."
