Go to Stonestown Mall...either the Chevy's or the Olive Garden are great!!! Yes, family friendly, reasonably priced, good food, and a great time!

If they have an Elephant Bar, that would be a good choice. I know that there are a few in the south bay. They have an animal theme that the kids will enjoy and a wide variety of moderately priced food.

A good family restaurant in the past (for both children and those of older age) has always been Chevy's or if you want something more of a higher priced range, it would have to be Caffe Venezia on University in Berkeley, California. They have a wonderful staff and the colorful artwork and fountain are sure to please the younger ones.
Good luck! p.s. Try the roasted chicken and chocolate torte flown directly from Italy.

Chevy's which is pseudo-Mexican but good fun for the family. They're all over the Bay area.

Fuddruckers makes really good hamburgers, and they bake their own buns. The toppings are set up like a salad bar, and they cater to families.

i'm more near san mateo in the bay area, and at Hillsdale mall, there's the macaroni grill by the Old Navy, across the street from the actual mall. there's also brewtown in san carlos (actually, i think it's 'Pudley's' now). we go there all the time
