I'm probably the worlds worst birthday christmas anniversary guy on the face of the planet. I don't want to disappoint my wife again this year like so many before. She is all I have and I don't want her to go another birthday with me letting her down with some dumb gift I really thought she would like or running out to some restaurant and her being upset at some waitress. I want this year tp be best ever. SOS I need help. Any suggestions?

Anything to let her know you spent some time on it.... think about the things she enjoys doing. If she likes the outdoors, go on a picnic. If she has a specific hobby, get her something that she can use for that. It's usually just the effort that someone thought about you to go to the trouble that makes a great event!
Good luck!

Make her a birthday card, write in there everything that she means to you (would not hurt if you cut and paste your question and the answer you pick from here and actually do the answer), would show her that you really do love her. You did not let us know when her birthday is...but let me suggest the Poconos in PA if you are close to there (couples only resort Cove Haven). Wonderfully magic. Hubby took me there in April can't wait to go back. If you can not afford or can not go out of town and if you have children have someone take them for the weekend and devote the whole weekend to her. Start out with candlelight dinner (that you prepared and cleaned up after wards) and some music (Warren Hill awesome) and let her plan the rest of the weekend. It does not have to be all about sex either just let her know that you would like to spend some quality time with her and let her decide the activities. Last suggestion, candles in the bedroom with rose petals on the bed with a special nightie that you picked out would top it off. Hope these suggestions helped.

Women always like to go away from home with their special person. If there's a nice place within an hour or two, take her away and turn off the cell phones. Something nice in the way of lingerie will get you lots of brownie points, also. If short of time you could arrive around 2 pm, check in, go see a romantic movie, have dinner and make it an early night in room (or if you prefer, go out to dance somewhere for a couple of hours.) Get up the next morning and go out for breakfast. Take the long way home via a scenic route if possible (and if she's not too tired from weekend). Add some flowers somewhere during the weekend, if possible.
And listen to her. That will be the best part of the weekend because she will have your complete attention and won't have to share you with friends, relatives or the TV. And I know that you won't turn the TV on while you are out to some "guy show".
Good Luck.

Prepare her an in-home meal, look up a new and different recipe on the internet with the main dish being an item she really likes, ex: Chicken. Then, get a nice romantic DVD with actress or actor she enjoys. Buy some silky sheets for the bed and put them on without her knowing it before retiring for the night.

Oh, and inside of her birthday card, include (amount of years) hand written, free things you will do for her within the coming year at her command, ex: back rub, clean bathroom, go shopping with her, and let her pick a movie...and so on. Good Luck!

This may take a lot of work, but the scavenger hunt is always good. I would think it was the coolest thing ever if my fiance/future husband did something like that for me. If you leave her clues and hints, and send her to a few stores and leave "messages" there for her, or have her go to the flower shop to pick up her flowers with the next place to go, then the final destination could be a hotel, with champagne/sparkling wine, and you waiting there for her. That would surprise her i'm sure. Maybe it's too cheesy, but as a 20-something woman, I would personally love something like that.

Good luck!!

well there is so much. but 1st what does she likes has she been trowing hints on something that she wants to do. or that she dont like so you wont go and get it.
Instead of taking her to a restaurant. have dinner at home. with some candles. make something that she likes but is romantic.
just for the both of yous. And as dinner goes pour her some wine. if she dont drink try something lite or her favorite drink and dont forget the wine glasses. and to top it of tell her how you love her and want her to have a great birthday dont forget jewelry

Well, I've been married for almost twelve years, and my dear sweet husband sucks at the gift thing too. I begged him to just write me a card for Christmas telling me how much he loved me!
But to be truly romantic would sweep me off my feet!! I see it has already been mentioned to do a scavenger hunt, well this works for all ages!! Have flowers sent to her or a box with a message in it~have her met you at home~only when she gets home have a trail of petals lead her to a fantastic dress you picked out for her~leave a second clue sending her to a romantic dinner rendezvous~excuse yourself at dinner, have dessert delivered with a key to romantic hotel room where you and champagne await her with candlelight!!

Take her away for the weekend, or stay in a posh hotel for a night.
Order room service, run her a bath, give her a massage.
Buy her some diamond jewellery and write her a card describing all the things you love about her.
I would love for my guy do to that for me.
