yes, right after they legalize gay marriage and turn Guantanamo Bay back over to Cuba.

Marijuana is not a gateway drug no matter how the government claims it is, it doesn't cause cancer, has hundreds of medicinal benefits and isn't addictive in the way that nicotine and alcohol is.

Hemp has a million uses and can be grown anywhere for a lot cheaper than cotton and is a renewable resource.

Eventually, maybe. One of the obstacles that legalizing marijuana has to overcome is special interest groups in the form of drug companies. Multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical corporations are not interested in a naturally occuring solution to some of the problems their designer drugs are used for. As long as these billion-dollar corporations are giving money to politicians, politicians won't take the necessary steps to actually legalize marijuana - no matter what the facts say.

Gateway drug or not, marijuana does have serious psychological side effects for a small percentage of the population.

"Why let them spoil it for the rest of us?"
Well no one can tell who will react to pot this way. But if it were legalised, you could bet your last dollar that a few people would have these side effects, and it would be political suicide for the government of the day.

Plus it's actually worse for your health than smoking cigarettes. (More tar and no filter)

No, its use violates the Puritan work ethic and would give a degree of real freedom in a country that only likes to practice half of what it preaches. There is also the side effect of opening closed minds that the 'educational system' works so hard to brainwash.
