can't connect to gmail all day

maybe it is because their main server is down or repair or improvement
or
your computer and internet gateway doesn't want to cooperate, which actually happens quite a lot

Gmail if you haven't noticed is always adding new features to it...it is after all a "Beta" and is still in the ongoing process of improvement...so from time to time they're down to make them...
