Of course racism is stupid, but sometimes is a subconscious thing. For instance, many people unthinkingly hold their bags tighter when they're around black young males, not because they're trying to be racist, but after hearing " black men are notorious thieves" you subconsciously believe it and hold your bag tighter. It goes the other way around too. Black people can subconsciously go to someone black or Hispanic in a store when asking a question, because the may have heard" white people only help you so they can see if you're stealing something" and may be subconsciously eliminating that from happening by picking someone "closer" to them instead. I agree, blatant racism is wrong, but people who are subconsciously racist simply don't realize they're doing it unless they're told. Most people become subconsciously racist in early childhood, because children absorb and retain things pretty permanently in that age. I hope this helps, Oh yeah, Also, older southern people are the most likely to be racist just because of how society was when they were children. They may say they aren't racist, but has anyone ever noticed how they start to get shifty or bristle when an African-American touches them? That's a sign of subconscious racism.

Why would you think you are alone in this?
Many people here are against racism. Of course, many people here are close-minded jerks, but that's an other story.
I don't endure racism. When I hear it or see it, I destroy it. I don't have to endure me or other people taking trash for being of a certain race.

Racism stems from the same place all ignorance comes from-fear of the unknown. I have a personal saying you might try."One race-HUMAN!But with many wonderful cultures. Each of them with something to teach us,and we need to listen and learn"
