doubt it's the chocolate but it does sound like you are over processing the skin. go to your doctor and ask to see a dermatologist. stripping the skin with harsh products increases the oil and can cause blockages in the pores. clearasil is very strong stuff so try something mild for a few weeks.

Sugar can irritate the skin - maybe that's part of the problem... Are you eating milk or dark chocolate? There was a study done recently that actually suggested that dark chocolate with flavanoids was good for the skin - at least the skin was healthier when exposed to the sun. Check it out at http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20060610/food.asp
One thing I would recommend is to not over clean your skin - scrubbing all the oils out dries the skin and actually can stimulate oil production. Instead use a gentle face wash and try not to irritate the skin with strong chemicals.

There is no evidence that chocolate, sugar, oil, milk, seafood, or any other food causes acne.
You may be washing TOO much. Facial blemishes are not caused by dirt. Contrary to what you may have seen in commercials, pores do not get blocked from the top down. Rather, an entire pore collapses from deep within the skin, starting acne formation. Frequent washing does nothing to prevent this. Over-washing is actually irritating, and excess irritation can worsen acne.

You know what, I have read studies that say that chocolate doesn't do anything. I wouldn't worry about it.
The main thing to do to get clear skin is to make sure you drink enough water everyday (8 glasses if you can- you will be amazed!) Also, try something stronger. I swear by ProActiv. I tried all those drugstore brands for years, hon and ProActiv is so much better, trust me!
Also, I know it's pricey, but getting a facial where they actually steam your face and extract the blackheads, is the best way to get rid of them.

No it does not! To get rid of your acne problems use neutrogena acne glycerin bar soap. Start off with very warm (as hot as you can handle) water to open the pores and then as you rinse the soap get the water colder and colder till as cold as you can handle (so youll be rinseing your face about 20 times. MOST IMPORTANT...do this twice a day (90% of acne gets cleared up if you wash twice a day) and follow with "Acne Free" gel available at walmart (same thing as proactive, but really cheap!)I promise it will do the trick. Best of luck and enjoy your chocolate!

It depends a lot on age. If your a teenager, tough. You could eat nothing but bran and drink only the purest sterile water and still have the complexion of a butcher's floor.
Otherwise its an open question. Chocolate isn't a problem for me, for example. Mayonaise, on the other hand is just plook central.

No, chocolate does not cause pimples. It's pretty much genetic and hormonal. Also stress can play a factor in breakouts as well as washing your face too often, using greasy skin care products and oily cosmetics and certain medications.

Misconceptions about causes
There are many misconceptions and rumors about what does and does not cause the condition:
* Diet. One flawed study purported that chocolate, french fries, potato chips and sugar, among others, affect acne.[1]A recent review of scientific literature cannot affirm either way.[2]The consensus among health professionals is that acne sufferers should experiment with their diets, and refrain from consuming such fare if they find such food affects the severity of their acne.[3]A recent study, based on a survey of 47,335 women, did find a positive epidemiological association between milk consumption and acne, particularly skimmed.[4]The researchers hypothesize that the association may be caused by hormones (such as bovine IGF-I) present in cow milk; but this has not been definitively shown. Seafood, on the other hand, may contain relatively high levels of iodine, but probably not enough to cause an acne outbreak. Still, people who are prone to acne may want to avoid excessive consumption of foods high in iodine. It has also been suggested that there is a link between a diet high in refined sugars and acne. According to this hypothesis, the startling absence of acne in non-westernized societies could be explained by the low glycemic index of these tribes' diets.[5]Further research is necessary to establish whether a reduced consumption of high-glycemic foods (such as soft drinks, sweets, white bread) can significantly alleviate acne, though consumption of high-glycemic foods should in any case be kept to a minimum, for general health reasons.[6]

I used to have a BAD diet when I was younger and my skin was in pretty bad shape. When I ditched the cr*p and opted for more fruit and veg my skin did improve.
Apparently eating too much sugar, junk food and choccies does not affect your skin but I think it does have some affect to a certain degree.
You could always have a trial for about a month or so where you don't eat your daily choccies and see what happens?

I used to have acne, chocolate, grease and all those myths are not true (I got this information from the dermatologist). All you can do is drink more water and get prescription those things you have right now are NO WAY near strong enough. You need to go to the dermatologist.

it's not true that chocolate causes pimples, that is just an old wives tale.
in fact dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants which helps cleanse you body of impurites actually helping prevent acne.
it sounds like you may be drying your skin out with all those acne products. drying out your skin actually causes pimples because it strips your skin of it's natural oils forcing your skin to overproduce oil to compensate which clogs your pores.
try using a acne wash for sensitive skin and following with an oil free moisturizer to keep your skin from producing too much oil.
