I'm looking for creative ideas for what to do with unused pureed baby food now that my baby is refusing anything but finger foods. I have fruits, vegetables, and meats left over and I would like to incorporate them into my baby's meals. For instance I have been able to use some of the pureed meats and fruits as a spread on toast and then cut into small pieces (she really likes it). But, I need more ideas.

Thickeners for soups. A thin sauce for pasta ( real messy as a finger food, but, children are washable )

There are a ton of charities, schools, churches, etc. doing food drives at this time of year so you should have no trouble donating it. Someone recommended selling it, which is actually illegal on the WIC program. I actually donated a lot of my sons WIC baby food today to a food drive. It was at least $30 worth. He has severe allergies to a wide variety of foods so he can eat very little of what they give him. I told them that, but they still gave me the food package. I figured that donating to someone who could use it would be better than me just throwing the checks away, especially since they encourage you to get everything on the check

I use the veggies in my tomato sauce and meatloaf it is a great way to sneak in some veggies and not even my husband is the wiser. As for the meats, I would throw those in my sauce too..You could probably spread them on a wrap and make pin wheels. As for the fruit add it to a smoothie with some yogurt that even you will love. Good luck!

I would use all the pureed meat, and veggies in soups, just add them to the broth. They would make a nice base. Just add more chopped veggies, meat, pasta, and spices etc. Does your baby eat yogurt? Maybe you could add the fruit to the yogurt. I don't know how old she is, but you could add the fruit to apple juice and make popsicles ... yummy!! They might be messy, but they're great for summer.Hope this helps.

Fruit can be substituted for oil/fat in some baked goods (banana bread, muffins). The final product is a bit more dense and gummy than when you use the recommended amount of oil/fat but the taste is good.

You could also donate some to a charity.
