Limbaugh had a very painful & real ailment - the medical journal calls it excurciating. As for Cheney's college deferments there were 1.2 million student deferments during Vietnam. The 5th was he was married with a child & everyone was deferred for that. Family men were not drafted.

No - most of the current Republican leadership has gotten out of service Vietnam, or has been able to weasel into a non-combat stateside reserve unit. (Dubya comes to mind)
If you put it into perspective, only 1 in 5 of the eligible males between 18-34 actually served during the Vietnam conflict. Unfortunately, the draft was very dis-favorable to men of color.
