Is it true that it is impossible to shrink the size of your pores even if some beauty products claim they can?

I have large pores and wish they were a little smaller. I was thinking of purchasing a scrub that claims it can minimize pore size. However, I read in a magazine that it is impossible to shrink the size of your pores.

Your pores are not like little doors; they do NOT open and close. Cold will shrink the blood vessels around the pore opening making it appear smaller until the body regains the normal temperature. Hot water will assist in liquefying the sebum (oil) in the pore and dilate the pore opening temporarily.
Pores enlarge by debris (dead skin, oil, uncleaned makeup) becoming trapped in the pore.
Cleanse your skin regularly and thoroughly and mask one to two times a weeks to assure you have removed dead skin.

Well they might reduce the size a little bit but when you use warm or hot water on your face you pores opne and when you use cold or cool water your pores close so i guess the products use that idea when they make the products.

do no longer positioned on any face makeup, no matter if the bottle says it gained't clog your pores, b/c it really is not real. except that attempt washing your face daily and eat somewhat better wholesome.
