Absolutely. You must follow your dreams! I believe all of us have a destiny and sometimes we may only become aware of what our destiny is when we begin to have a dream. "You gotta have a dream, cause if you don't have a dream, how ya goin' to have a dream come true?"(Rogers & Hamerstein- South Pacific). However, Nothing good in life comes easy; so, if we want to achieve our dreams, we must be ready to work very hard for them and even make sacrifices That is the guaranteed formula for success along with persistance or never giving up even when things look bleak. If your dream is truly worth it, and you give up on it, then later on in life when it is too late you might regret it, and that would be very sad.

I spent the first half of my life following someone else's dream, my father's. He wanted me to be what he wanted me to be, and I chose differently he rejected me as a son. By the time I was 35 I was drinking an average of a half gallon of vodka every day just to keep from shaking, so I could go to work to make enough money to buy the next half gallon.
When I sobered up I realized I had no idea who I was and what I wanted to do. I had already graduated from college getting two degrees, one in French (for me) and one in Business (for my father), and I had no idea why I had gone to college beyond the fact that I was told from childhood that that was what I was supposed to do. I spent the next twenty some odd years pretending to be interested in business. I made a lot of money, lost alot of money ($16,000,000.00 in ten years), but I had very little memory of any of that period. For instance, I missed Jimmy Carter's presidency. I don't remember anything he did, but I was on the production crew for his tv commercials when he ran for Governor.
I took these placement tests and the results did not help b/c they showed Icould do anything. They could not narrow it down to one thing, but instead narrowed to many things. I knew I would have to decide at some point what I needed to do for the rest of my life. After two/three years of researching, Irealized I could enjoy being a scholar or a teacher. So, I got financial aid and now owe over 100,000 dollars in federal eductation loans. I became a teacher, taught high school in Los Angeles for 5 years before moving to teach at college/university which is where I am teaching now. I have never been happier, but I still have this enormous loan I will probably die paying back each month. I have never been happier even though I haven't spoken to my father or my mother for almost 20 years.
So, I suppose it was, at least for me, wise to finally begin doing what I wanted to do even though I am poor. I am married with two children and 4 grandchildren. I am loved by these people for who I have become by following my dreams. It was a winding road, but it finally got me here.
Hope this helps.

“Before a dream can manifest itself it has to be dreamt. The enjoyment of the dream is all that really matters, for the mind does not change its perceptions of thoughts in nighttime dreams and daytime fantasies we call 'real’ living.”_ Michael Levy

I believe you should always follow you dreams. I hope we are NOT talking about "dream of when your asleep!" You should let your heart, and God guide you thorough out your life. You should not ever be afraid to try new things nor experience them. You only live once make it count!! God Bless!

I follow them when I can but if it was to come between me and my friends than my dreams aren't worth losing friends, because I could achieve my dreams but it maynot be all its cracked up to be but with my friends its the best thing.

"Having a dream isn't stupid ... It's not having a dream that's stupid." - anonymous
"The poor man is not he who is without a cent, but he who is without a dream." - Harry Kemp
The happiest (and most successful) people have and pursue dreams. Dreams can be wonderful gifts when we have the courage to pursue them with all that we have to give.
Best wishes. Thanks for the thoughtful question.

not most of mine, i have a habit of planning deaths, murders, good for writing, but i don't think i should follow them. other people make up some ridiculous things throughout their dreams, and with all those animals and rainbows and whatever i think we would be kind of chaotic
