I would certainly expect them to offer to pay for it

Did he smash the settee by utilising doing some thing that he wouldn't have been doing? (horseplay, leaping on it, or the like) Did he purely take a seat in many circumstances on the settee and it broke? If he did some thing incorrect, he could pay for the damages he led to. If he purely sat on the settee like a common civilized guy or woman, and it broke (the two from a sickness or positioned on) then he has no accountability to pay for a fix. He became a focused visitor on your place, and regularly occurring positioned on and tear is a fee you pay for having pals circulate to. in case you went to a eating place, and jumped up and down on a chair, and it broke, you would be responsible for the wear. in case you sat in a chair in many circumstances, and the leg broke and you fell and injured your self, the eating place might desire to be answerable on your injuries. it particularly is an identical situation with a focused visitor on your place!!

Not really.unless I really need it and then I may let him give me half. If he does'nt have it I would'nt stress him.
The thing is accidents happen. I know it still hurts though, but if he's sincerely sorry. I have broken a lot of things my best friend had,and she would'nt let me pay for it even though I insisted on it,but she would'nt let me. Last week I had broken something again, and I went and replaced it and gave it to her. She did'nt know, but I felt bad that everytime I broke something she would say I did'nt have to replace it. You kinda feel like you're taking advantage of the fruiendship when you won't try to make things right. Please don't let it ruin your friendship.

I think it would depend on whether they broke it or not. If it was an accident all I would ask for would be an apology and if they offered to pay for it heck I wouldn't stop them. If they had every intention of breaking it or was messing with it after I said to be careful with it hecks ya I would demand them to pay for it.

Depends on how much it costs. If it was one of those cheap ones for about 20 dollars, no. But I also wouldnt let them use it again. However, my digicam costs 350 dollars and is very nice. If my best friend broke that, I would be pissed, make her pay for it, and never let her touch it again.

I would not push the issue because if my Best Friend broke anything of mine, she would automatically reimburse me for it, without me ever having to ask her for it, hence the term "Best Friend".
Hopefully your Best Friend is going to do the same for you.
Have a lovely rest of the day.

It depends on how they broke it. If they did it on purpose, I might, but if they didn't mean to, then I wouldn't and forgive them. After all, they are yur best friends.

If they really are your best friend they would offer to pay for it without you having to ask. If they don't, then you should ask them to pay for it and reconsider how much they value your friendship.

if they did it on purpose, of course. the least they could do in an accident is to offer to replace it
