Why do YOU feel such pressure...
people don't bother you...you LET them bother you!
Society may define what is normal, but you are an individual.

the only pressure comes from you allowing it to be pressure.
Do you want to do it? If not, then let it go, and let people move on to the next canidate for loss of cherry .
I can promise you one thing. it all changes after that. you odn't have it anymore, and after it's taken, you're not the one being chased anymore. If you still want it, and can be ok with all of the crap that comes with it, then go for it. if not, wy not wait until you don't feel pressured, but feel in love and want to do it, or just to satisfy your own curiousity. it is a personal thing, and only you should decided when the time is right. You have to live with yourself.

for guys it is seen as a way to fit in, it's like you're suddenly a man if you've done it,also they seem to physically experience desire before girls and so are more curious and feel like they need to get it over with sooner,
and for girls it's usually just to fit in and be able to say they are grown up too, when you look at it like this you can see how petty it is to feel pushed into doing it when you don't feel ready.
just think, when you're older and ready to have a long term relationship, imagine saying to your partner that you've slept around since you were a kid and have lost count of how many there were. it's enough to put any worthwhile person off taking a second look at you. especially since you're at least 4 times more likely to get a disease than to get pregnant. better to wait til you're ready and then enjoy it when you do.

The kids that did regret it and can't go back, so they want all of the other kids to do the same. That's why.
Do not worship your peers.

I agree with the person who said it's because others regret what they did, so they want others to join in. One should always stick by whatever moral convictions they have, even if it means feeling isolated. You'll always have your pride and self-respect.

because they don't realize what they are actually "giving up", and don't do it because of peer pressure.....or your boyfriend/girlfriend pressure you...most often you will regret it.

Because the guys want the girls to give in so they can get laid. The girls who did give in want other girls to give in so they can feel better about doing first.
