In answer to skepti.. above, this question has been asked by philosophers since time immemorium...
Can God make a rock so heavy he cannot lift it? If we assume the common definition of omnipotence, we encounter a contradiction: If God was omnipotent, he should be able to create such a rock but then he cannot lift the rock and his omnipotence breaks down....thus, a paradox.
This paradox does not prove or disprove anything in itself, but it does point out the inherent logical impossibility of the existence of an omnipotent God.

This is a truly great and famous question. Most theologians think that God can't do things that are logically impossible - like creating a round square. This doesn't infringe upon God's omnipotence because the command "Create a round square" is a contradiction in terms and so really isn't a command at all; it's gibberish. So, assuming that for any weight "w," lifting a stone of weight "w" isn't a contradiction in terms, then it would follow that God can lift any stone. Moreover, if God can lift any stone then "create a stone too heavy for God to lift" is equivalent to "create a stone too heavy to be lifted by a being who can lift any stone." And that, like "create a square circle" is a contradiction in terms, gibberish. From all this it follows that no - God can't create a stone too heavy for him to lift, although this isn't any genuine infringement upon his (or her) power.

Can God create a rock so heavy that he himself cannot lift it?
I've heard this one before and it still amazes me how much simple-minded people shudder at the ramifications of the paradox this question poses.
Is it possible for the omnipotent god to create something which he himself is unable to control?
The omnipotent god should be able to create this rock because he can do anything. Yet if he is then unable to lift this rock, how is he still omnipotent?
It still amazes me how much the simple-minded shudder when asked this.

No, for a rock is a solid maifestation and as such is nothing compared to the potential of divine energy.
Ask if God can create a spiritual supernova that was so powerful that even He would be consumed and the answer would be - NO.
God is the opposite of man.
Man is powerless using the force found in other things to aggrandize himself.
God is the power of which everything else is a fraction.

This is a very circular argument. If he can create a rock he cannot lift, then he cannot lift that rock. if he cannot create a rock that he cannot lift, then there is something he cannot do.
So, it is impossible to say god can do all things, because however you look at the question, there is something he cannot do.

No, an infinitely powerful god could lift a infinitely heavy rock that he created.

The only rocks that GOD can not lift are the "box of rocks" in your head. GOD will not interfere with the cerebral incompetence of man.

Are you that bored? That is the stupidest question I have ever heard or read. Sorry, but I am amazed that you even thought of it. Why would he create it? And if he able to create it why couldn't he lift it?

This is one of the problems with God.
God is omnipotent & omnicent. Which means that he is all powerful and all knowing.
IF something is all powerful, then yes, it can create anything that it wishes...
BUT if he can not lift it, then he is not omniscent!
HMMMMM.... This is a huge fallacy. How can something be all powerful, and not at the same time?
To answer your question, NO... because God can not exist.
