you hear many people in hollywood admitting to being this or being that, but you don't hear much about them being a Christian...since when did being a Christian be taboo...

It isn't. It is just that many people feel religion is a personal thing and so they don't have the need to "spout" it all over the place. Since many people feel that way, I am sure that some of those in Hollywood feel the same.

I'm sure many of them don't feel it necessary boast. Not everyone feels that it's necessary to blurt out their religious beliefs to the public.
