If you had an internal injury that bled for DAYS and DAYS and DAYS from your penis, caused you pain, effected your eating/sleeping/stomach at times, could also cause headaches and bloating, and you were told that you had to pretend that nothing was wrong, go to school, go to work, whatever, you couldn't complain because no one wanted to hear it, and the "injury" happened every month - you'd be a little ticked off too.

Because their period is a symbol that they have biologically failed. In any other species it is a female's job to be impregnated as many times as possible. Every egg that goes unused is a waste. Its the bodies way of saying "Bad girl, you should be having more sex, then I'll make you feel good" (No joke)

Two words. Hormone Swings!
It's hard to be nice when you hurt all over and you feel like crap.
its a chemical thing. You feel like you drank draino. Its very hard to deal with morning and night for 3 to 5 days. Makes a person cranky.

Because women sometimes don't feel very well when they have their period. Get bad cramps, which can make you feel very strained and grouchy.

However, that doesn't mean I think it's ever okay to snap at people or be mean to them just 'cuz you don't feel well.

Hormone levels shift. I know guys don't want to always believe this but it is true. Also, it is a physical aggravation. You get tired, and sometimes we can't even stand ourselves.
