Nutty as fruitcakes, and they seem to take a wrong turn everytime that things seem to be getting better

Iran has not always been ruled by dictators and demagogues. There was a democratically elected government in 1951 under Mohammad Mosaddeq. This government didn't like the fact that it's natural resources (OIL) had been exploited for years by foreign countries, so they nationalized Iran's oil industry. 2 years later, this government was toppled through a coup that was funded by the CIA...the Shah was put back in power as a puppet of the West...His government was completely corrupt. He was eventually overthrown because of this, which led to Iran becoming a theocracy under Khomeni

They have the potential to be our greatest Middle Eastern Ally. The problem with Iran is the leadership, it's always been plagued by dicatators and demagogues. The students of Iran are much more open minded than the religious zealots.

If (probably more like when) we invade, we should just plow through like we did to Iraq both times. Except, this time walk away leaving a smoking hole where they used to be. Don't screw around rebuilding their country while sinking our economy like we're doing now in Iraq. Quick, efficient, effective; that's the name of the game!
