It's pretty tough to beat the view from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel (which occupies the the 38th - 48th floors in the First Interstate Tower).

The Top of the Mark Hopkins bar at the Intercontinental Hotel is also good, as is the St. Francis Hotel's glass elevators and viewing lounges.

The Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel at 55 Cyril Magnin Street in San Francisco, California is has amazing skyline views. Stayed there in a corner room on the 26th floor. Nice!
