Earlier, I asked for the lyrics--don't send them! I already have them on another question. What I want to know is details behind the silly song. Who and WHY??

Actually a guy named Ross Bagdasarian wrote that song, but everyone knows him as David Seville. Why he wrote the song is an interesting story that goes something like this. Ross was down on his luck and he only had $200. So, he bought a $198 record play that could also play tapes at different speeds. He began expiermenting and he found that squeaking chipmunk voice we all know. He had to write a song to present to liberty records. The song wtch doctor was inspired by a book titled dual of the witch doctors and decided to make it about some hopeless person falling in love with another person but that person didn't feel the same way.
