Depends on your preferences. If you want to have kids and not get married, then go for it! But realize that there is a lot of responsibility either way. If you're not married you might end up wanting to go for child support if you don't stay with the man, or something else. The "olden"ways are to get married, but sometimes that's just not for you. Being a single mom is hard work but well worth it and something to be proud of! It just depends on what you want further down the line-in a committed relationship or just focusing on your child and whoever else might come along, whether that is a guy or not. Just really look into your heart.

Probably not a good idea.

Why not wait until you find someone worth settling down with forever? All kids are better off with a mom and a dad. Even if it seems like a good idea now, will it seem like a good idea when you have to support one or more kids with no man around to help out?

Even if he promises to contribute, the only way to be certain that he will do so is to get that marriage certificate!

I would say no.. If you want to be happy and have a stable future with your children, I would say get married.. If you are pergnant and they dont want to marry you still have the baby.. There are always other means if you dont want to keep it like give it up for adoption.. I would say to get married then have kids.. That is the safest and best way to go..

If that's your desire, go for it! I wish that's what I would've done. I always said I wanted to have kids, but didn't want to go through the marriage - for the simple fact that divorce is more expensive and I couldn't see myself wanting to spend my life with one person. I only got married for insurance purposes, and needless to say, it didn't work out. Have all the kids you want, daddy will have to pay child support if you break up regardless of your marital status. So if it doesn't work out, you don't have to pay a lawyer for a divorce, you can just change locations, and move away from one another.

if you feel like you have the financial means to support a child then go for it. I see nothing wrong. I aunt was never married and she wanted to have kids, so at the age of 32 she gave birth to my cousin, who is now 19 years-old. just make sure you let your child know why he/she doesn't have a father in his/her life. good luck.

No. Just my opinion, though.

Kids should have father and mother within access at all times. I didn't have a dad, and my mom was very mean. As a result I'm depressed most of the time, and kinda hate my mom.

It depends! Are you happy without a husband? Can you support them? Is the guy going to help you support them without being in their lives? What are the options? If you think you can do it and are going to be happy about the choices you make, then I say go for it!
