Lord of the Rings..because they can actually act..and it's much more beautiful..and everything is done right down to the detail..it has a rich history..and it makes Middle Earth so believable..plus Harry Potter is JUST flat out gay..in a few years after it's complete..Is Anyone going to say "Who wants to watch Harry Potter?" Everyone would be like "What on Earth is that?"

Now if it Was LOTR "Who wants to watch the greatest trilogy on Earth, Lord of the Rings?" EVERYONE would be like "I DO I DO I DO!!"..

The Lord of the Rings will go down in history...

Harry Potter

I enjoy them both, for some of the same reasons.

Both series of books are highly imaginative, and the worlds the authors have made are both very cohesive (meaning everything "fits", there's nothing out of place). The characters have depth and histories. They are both examinations of how good has to struggle against evil in the world, and making noble choices.

The LOTR books are considerably harder to read, so they may appeal to an older audience, but the movies are fantastic and very true to the books (despite some glaring omissions, such as Tom Bombodil).

The Harry Potter books are easier to read, but they are so packed with story that it is difficult to make movies that really cover the depth of what is in the books. I find the movies a little silly compared to the depth of imagery that is imbedded in the books.

Harry Potter has Emma Watson, but LOTR has Liv Tyler.

I like both, but Harry Potter is probably my favorite. I do not really like the way that LOTR ends.

lord of the rings. I didn't even bother watching the harry potter movies.

and the two aren't really that alike..
except for using magic? I guess?

harry potter has black magic. LOTR is much more believable.
I know you agree
