really good show, you sit and watch it right? Well corporations want you to buy their stuff right? Well if giving away huge sums of money will keep you glued to the screen those corporations will dish it out. they pay for the show so that they can advertise their products to you. thus they ultimately make more money than they ever shell out. Say 1million people go out and buy a hersheys bar after seeing a commercial during DorND hershey just made a cool mil. it makes sense if ya think about it, you have to spend money to make money

its funded by endemol...the same people that produced big brother...
they get the money back through the interest of the public!
think how much money they make from it's publicity...the people sitting in the audience pay a fee and ofcourse channel4 have many projects that allow them to fund it!
look at who wants to be a millionaire!!
or pimp my ride!
they all have huge amounts of cash given away!
