The speed of light is vastly faster than the speed of light. Sound travels at a velocity of about 1,128 feet per second, in air. (which is 344 metres per second. Sound must have a medium to travel within. Therefor there is no sound in the vacuum of space. Sound travels fastest through a solid and less fast through a liquid, and slower still through a gas like our atmosphere. The speed of light is 299,792 kilometers per second. Note that figure is kilometres not mere metres, like the speed of sound. A kilometre is 1,000 timers as far as a metre.)
One way to notice the difference is to boserve a thunderstorm. A flash of lightning will be noticed and it's accompanying thunder may take seconds or minutes, more, to arrive, and be heard.

Light is the fastest thing know so far...
Speed of light is 3x10^8 m/s
And speed of Sound is only 323 m/s
Most fighter planes can go 2-3 times faster than speed of sound. MACH 2, 3, etc.
I hope this gives you an idea...
Also for example, during the thunder storm you see lightning well before you hear the sound...

Light travels at a speed of 186,000 miles per second, but sound can travel only at 12.5 miles per second. There is a BIG difference. In fact, the speed of light is the fastest that exists-nothing can go faster.

Sound goes 750 mph (about, I think; ie planes can go faster than it). Light goes 186,000 miles per second. There is no way to compare the two; light is the fastest thing in the universe. This is why you see a lightning bolt before you hear it.

Are you kidding? The speed of light is 299,792,458 meters per second, and the speed of sound through steel is about 5100 meters per second (it travels a slightly different speeds through different media). But light is A LOT faster than sound.

Light is MUCH faster. If you've ever seen a plane flying overhead, and noticed that the sound seems to arrive later, you've experienced it. Or lightning being seen before thunder is heard, for example.

Speed of light. By a lot
You've probably experienced this. You see lightning flashes a few moments before you hear the thunder, right?
