Maybe you need your hearing checked. If no hearing problem, why do you want to damage your hearing capability? I don't like being born 70% deaf.

Can't you put your ipod to detachable speakers? Contact the manufacturer if this is so important to you. Which headphones has the best sound for the Ipod.

Maybe you got a wax build-up in your ears. Just have your ears checked out. Before it gets worse to zero hearing. Its no fun being deaf, like me.

You can change the maximum volume level on your iPod itself. Go into settings, then select Volume Limit. Dial the volume all the way to the top. The factory settings are only about 2/3 the capacity (at least they were on mine). You can also set a password so no one else can change this.

Open iTunes and click on a song. Click options and there you can set the volume to 100% more. Or you can set it as low as 0%. Now it's going to blast through your headphones like "wham"!!

Go into ITunes in your computer and open the equalizer window. Select "manual" and turn everything to +12 db. I had the same problem, but now my I-pod works brilliantly!

I agree with nick29homie. If you want Symphony of Destruction (great song!!!) to play louder, right click it, click Get Info, Click Options, and make as loud as you want.
