.... who was shot dead just moments after giving Jackson his nickname. There is some debate as to whether it was intended as a compliment or not.

Jackson was suppose to be advancing to Bee's support. Bee was fighting a retreating action, trying to buy time for Jackson to reach him. When Bee finally saw Jackson, who was not advancing to his aid, but rather just standing there holding his ground, Bee shouted, 'There stands Jackson, like a stone wall. Rally to the Virginians!'
