Do you stereotype people..do you look at a different race and say certain things about them...im just curious to know what you think of different races when you see them.

I do sometimes find myself stereotyping and making judgments about people that I do not know, most often when I am in a bar though. There are so many interesting and different people out there, and although I do feel bad for making an occasional comment, I also recognize that I will not actually judge a persons exterior for how they may really be interior. Sometimes the most attractive and so-called "sluttiest" dressed females are truly the most insecure. Some of the sweetest people I have ever met were also the scariest ones that I was nervous to approach. I enjoy people watching and making an occasional comment, but fully recognize that is not who that person truly is.

On a side not... and I to say it, but sometimes I can't help but wonder if some people seriously look in the mirror and think that they look good before leaving the house. The other day I served a larger woman at the bank who wore a child's type of t-shirt with food stains done the front of it. The children she had with her were between 8-11 and dressed better than her. The worst part of it was that in addition to her breasts were dropping over her excess stomach weight, she was not wearing a bra to support them and her nipples were as hard as they could be. I was actually almost offended and felt bad for her children.

Unfortenately yes.. it should be innocent until proven guilty.. but I have no idea why we tend to stereotype. must be something wrong in the educational system. the first thing they teach you at school is an image and you have to say what it is. Maybe it would be better if they drive you to the answer in a different manner. The irony is you know that you are so much different from your so called same race people so how can all other races be the same?

i personally don't call myself a racist. i have friends of both colors plus i have a boss that is from India. i work in an environment where i have to associate with different types of people. and then i do have an opinion about the different types of races we have in our country here...they should stay within their race and not mix. in cases like that i think that if children are involved in the future, it just makes it harder for the child going thru school with kids out there that don't know the difference between the right thing to say and the wrong thing to say.

I know before I lived in another country my stereotypes were the first thoughts that came to mind, but I quickly learned how to change my pattern of thinking after I was able to step into the other man's shoes.

I think everyone stereotypes a little, and it's not just secluded to race. In fact, in my first sentence, I said 'everyone.' It's a proven fact (in my opinion, anyway) that not every person does everything as everyone else, minusing the basic needs such as eating, breathing, etc.

I absolutely do not. People are individuals no matter what color their skin. And no one person can represent the good or bad of an entire race.

everyone has been taught stereotypes either by their Friends, family or TV. We are all prejudice to so extent, but is should be our goal to not let these thoughts influence any decisions we make.
