How do you make a podcast?

Basically you record an mp3 file about an interesting topic or series of topics and upload the file(s), along with some descriptive information called RSS data or meta-data, to a public server that is dedicated to podcasting. Then listeners locate your description on the server and listen to your podcast in their ipod or other mp3 player.
