Mosquitos can hatch from almost any size pools of stagnant water that are uncovered. You you have pet dishes sitting out? What about collecting rain water outside?
To get rid of them get rid of the areas in which they can lay eggs and wait two days. You may also want to try Avon Skin-So-Soft products as they repell insects and soften your skin without smelling like insect repellant.

In that area chances are you have whats known as a swamp cooler. its like an air condioner but it uses runing water over a filter and the water is pumped back to the top. so the standing water in the bottem is where they are comming from . You need to seal all air space around this and all windows and get a good filter for the front of the unit. Make sure there are no air spaces they can get in, and dont go in and out of the house in the morning or evening unless nessary and do it quickly. This will cut down as much as you can. also keep the grass mowed short .

Fisrt of all ask them politely to leave - failing this , write very small signs and paste them on walls and ceiling saying ' No Mosquitos' - or words to that effect . If this dosen't work construct a mosquito maze which they have to pass through before getting into your house - many of them will just give up and go next door . They are probably coming from Manchester on Easyjet .

Check all flower pots to make sure there is not standing water in them, does your front yard have a ditch that has water in it??? if so, buy some feeder guppies and turn them loose in it. Anything that has standing water needs to be bug proofed. Evap coolers are often a nasty job to bug proof. Use a yard fogging insect spray. You cannot get rid of these nasties without cooperation from your entire neighborhood. Everyone has to do all the above.

Mosquitoes breed in standing water, so you need to look around your property for thinds like birdbaths, puddles that don't dry up in the sun, abandoned children's toys (like dump trucks), tire swings...ect. One of the biggest culprits is your eavestroughs. If there are leaves or debris in them, water can pool there. Clean them out and put up plastic "gutter guards". You can buy these at hardware stores and they are fairly inexpensive. As to where they are coming from, look at your screens and repair any holes you find. Burning citronella candles while outdoors (or even indoors if they are bad) does repell them to an extend. Hope this helps!

If you have an evaporative cooler to cool your house, you could be getting mosquito breeding in the cooler water.
