Well, considering that an answer of, "a boat," or some other object that would save a person immediately is not as fun, I would say... a rain barrel and a toothbrush. I know, the toothbrush would get gunky/useless after awhile but when it was all used up my rain barrel would give me comfort... and, hopefully, potable water.
