it is two pill you get on prescription from your doctor (or you can buy it over the counter at your chemist if you live in the uk, its about £20) you can take it up to 48 hours after you have had unprotected sex or if your contraception has failed. it stops you from becomming pregnant, i had issues about asking my doctor for it because im catholic but so is she and she said while she would never sign off on an abortion she would happily prescribe the morning after pill (well, maybe not happily, but you know what i mean!) x

It's a pill, like The Pill, but with a much higher dose of Oestrogen/Progestrogen in it, that you can get from a GP (or a Pharmacist now I think), to stop you getting pregnant. It's not something you'd want to do very often though as the side effects are nausea and feeling like sheeit for a few days, though I guess that's better than an unwanted pregnancy.

Its a pill that they used to give to rape victims and now apparently it is available in certain places for women who suspect the may have gotten pregnant within the last 24 to 72 hours...
If you have had unprotected sex, you have an option that can prevent you from becoming pregnant. It is called the “morning after pill.” Actually, the morning after pill is not necessarily an accurate term. The correct term is “emergency contraception” or “emergency birth control.” That is because in most cases the morning after pill can actually be used within 72 hours of unprotected sex.
The morning after pill are are hormones that act both to prevent ovulation or fertilization and it should not be confused with the “abortion pill., otherwise knowns as RU48, mifepristone or Mifeprex.
As opposed to regular methods of contraception, the morning after pill is considered for use in occasional cases only, for example in the event of contraceptive failure. Since they act before implantation, they are considered medically and legally to be forms of contraception.
The morning after pill is considered very safe. There are no contraindications to its use, and no physical exam is necessary prior to its use. In fact, this medicine is so safe that the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Medical Association (AMA) are actively encouraging the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to make the morning after pill available to patients over-the-counter, without a doctor's prescription. If you are interested in obtaining the morning after pill, simply go to the drop down boxes above and click onto your state and/or city. You will then see a list of physicians or clinics that provide the morning after pill.

The morning after pill is a pill that is prescribed by your doctor. Basically if you have unprotected sex and the guy ejeculates into you, obviously there is a chance you can fall pregnant. This pill ensures that you won't. It can be used upto 72 hours after sex. However they can be long term risks if you continue to get it from your GP.

The answers here are something else - they'd be funny if they weren't so sad.
There is no 'baby' the morning after. Fertilisation can take up to 4 days after intercourse. The 'morning after' pill essentially kick-starts a period, shedding the uterine lining.
Women 'lose' fertilised embryos all the time, presumably the 'baby the day after' brigade will be holding funerals for them all.

If you have had sex with no protection you can go to your doctor and obtain this pill to prevent you from getting pregnant. You need to go within a certain time period, I don t know offhand how long (the next morning as the pill suggests would work).

We will just say that you have a wild night out and wake up with this guy and realize that you didn't use protection. Don't get me wrong, you like the guy, but you don't want his baby. In comes the miraculous morning after pill. It's like a birth control for slow thinkers. (or people who weren't expecting to get lucky.)

Bimbo just wants to over populate the world and get lots of unwanted unloved babies turing into abused kids stuffing the world prob as her cult said so... Ignore. The same cult ie christianity also does not have commandments against rape and child abuse as they would get in the way of 'go forth and muliply' works well in the third world with no food around. And uncle john is talking rubbish... Check family planning clinics...
Its an emergency pill you MUST take within a day or so quicker the better if you think you have had any chance of a single sperm cell getting in you...
If if any danger of you getting pregnant and you must have it asap.
Not just having sex...
You will need to know the following
cuting and pasting
You CAN get pregnant from:
Semin on fingers fingers on or in fanny
Semin on butt that dripples onto fanny. (if stays on butt and cleaned
off fine.
And drips, slashes or any way shape or form inc on underwear.
It gets on in or near (say if leg wet fit sperm could swim up and in)
your vagina.
First time
Before first period... you could currently be on your first cycle. the
period bit is that last bit.
Standing up,
Any time of the month (it stays in you for a long time.)
If dude withdraws ie pulls out being 'careful' as one you can't trust
any guy especailly as they last seconds. And as drops of sperm come out
early to lubricate the willy.
All religion approved methods are rubbish.
If the condom comes off... Practice first with bananas, then if you can
get one a dildo, then boyfriend. (if a guy practice in the dark inc
getting them out of pocket (make it realistic), on your willy, toss it
off, *** then get it off carefully holding it as you pull out ... Find
something squeezed together for this, with no splashes...And not creamy
dangerous fingers.
Go have shower in other words.
Anything oil based (unless durex avanti or other non rubber (also incase
of allergy to rubber) polyurathane ones). It acts like acid making
little holes 30 seconds for std viruses, 60 for semin and bacteria. Ie
chocoalte, ice cream, vasaline.
Luminous watches on willies dont work, neither do luminous watches or
any other shite.
Before you think you may do it (ie getting on well with guy) get on the
pill, patch or injection... THEN on top of that use condoms for stds and
as a back up.
AND find out several places you can get morning after pills and do a dry
run on getting one so you know what to do inc late at night and on a
sunday.
If anything goes slightly wrong moring after pill straight away...
Also some drugs amd medicines stop pills work and tthey have to be taken
certain times or don't work say if you slept in.
Hence injections etc better.
Sex is good when done right. you WILL do it, ideally 16-17 + but do it
right.
And you can't get pregant from kissing.
STDs are possible from blow jobs though so no test no sucky.

It is a series of three pills that are taken up to 24 hours after intercourse. Basically, yes it would be about the same as an abortion, flushes out anything inside the uterus.
