Schizophrenia, wormhole, drugs, something else? Please explain.

I don't think you could ever really come up with a theory for a david lynch movie... but that's the genius of his movies.... you don't know what's real and who's who. Very few auteurs can actually pull that off, and that's why I can't get enough of his films. The brillance is the chaotic unknown.

I would have to say wormhole, or at least a weakening between the 3rd and 4th dimensions that skewed time perception. I thought about it until my brain hurt and I'm still not sure.
