I am highly educated (MA and JD), speak four languages, have a mature work ethos, can travel, have people skills, am nice to get along with, ambitious ... but have a severe recurrent headache problem that's been getting worse over the years. One time out of two, I have to cancel appointments because of a severe migraine. I get them three or four times a week. I am not in a financially stressful situation, but I still need to work, unless I moved to the boons, where I'd kill myself. I have trried, and continue to try, everything on the planet to cure my headaches, from mainstream to alternative. I don't want advice on that front. I would love advice on what kind of job I could get and perform consistently at with my headaches.

Thanks for the doc review suggestion, but every doc review job I've been requestetd to do was like "we need it yesterday" That's litigation: deadlines.

I see that you have a JD - you should try doing contract work as Document Reviewer. With all the investigations into corporations going on the jobs are plentiful. If you live near a metropolitan area the sky is the limit. I just completed an 8 month job doing doc review and I am a paralegal, not a JD - JDs are preferred. Check out the career websites and you'll see what I mean. Some are conducted remotely (very few) but they are mostly for short durations and could probably work around your migraine schedule (I was plagued for years with them, seem to have gone away).

Government (public sector) scientist or a diplomatic attache (who do not have direct appointments usually)

In your case, you possibly need to figure out what your strengths are and set up a conultancy based on the skill. The business should be a partnership with you taking care of the 'back office' work.

Good luck
