If so, have you ever contributed a donation to any of the local PBS pledge drives? I am just curious to see if people do actually donate.

I see somebody mentioned Mr. Rodgers. His show was taped right here in Pittsburgh PA. I have a personal tie to that program. My mother was the person in the Purple Panda suit for one season. I actually got to meet Fred back when I was a child.... I will never forget that day....being just a little kid, it was like I was going to see God himself! I know there were some rumors about Mr. Rodgers not being so nice in his real life. I can refute any bad story about him. He was one of the nicest celebs you could have ever met. When he was just "Fred" he was exactly the same as he was on the show. That was no act, that was the real Fred Rodgers.

I'm watching BBC News on PBS right now. I donate during pledge drives usually when a "thank you gift" is offered. The donation is tax deductible.

Yes, I've watched many programs on PBS. I love all of those British comedies such as "Are You Being Served." I also enjoy the nature programs as well. I have contributed money in the past.

I have known people who have donated but I am not one of them. It is usually older, more well off types that can afford to donate and appreciate the programming PBS puts on.

I only watch when there is a special movie that airs... I have never donated, can't really spare the money. I am glad someone does though, because my nieces and nephews do watch their afterschool or kids programming!

I like the brit coms...but I will be damned if I ever "pay" them during pledge drives, they get enough money from "special intrest groups and the government...I may volunteer one year to do phone work there because I hear they give you cool things and you get catered food:)

Yes. I'm always watching Sesame Street with my daughter. Unfortunately I don't have a credit card so don't donate. I'd like to, but oh well. That's not the only channel with Sesame Street on it (I don't think?!) so whatever! :D
