after keeping up with all the first games for each team, I'd say Argentina and Italy have the best chances. It was disappointing to see Brazil vs. Croatia but I do think they'll do better in the coming games. Spain have also made a good start.

Argentina have great players and work well as a team with Ayala, Riquelme and Crespo/Saviola...Italy are great as a unit, with Nesta and Cannavaro at the back, Pirlo and Perrotta/Gattuso in the middle, and Totti/Toni upfront...however, no one can match Brazil's attack of Ronaldo, Adriano, Ronaldinho and Kaka...
I think it's going to be a battle with these 3....with Spain coming close.

Who do I vote for?

USA all the way.

Do I think they have a chance, no way (at least not yet).

I love soccer and the USA supporters can't be fair weather fans if we want soccer to survive in this country.

And while I agree that Brazil is the best team at the moment, it will be interesting to see how the World Cup plays out. Brazil surely did not play like they were the best team in the world yesterday.

England all the way,ok their opening game wasn't the greatest game to watch in fact i'd say it was like a surreal dream watching a 6'7" forward like Crouch whose job is to head balls over defenders onto the feet of pouncing strikers playing without a striker...? If Owen had to come off which i don't believe he did then surley putting an untried striker like Walcott with his pace and rumoured Henry like touch on would have been a better choice. That said we won the game and Sweden & Trinidad&Tobago drew later that day, once we reach the knockout stages Crouch will be delivering balls up for Rooney or Owen to bang in. Rooney and Owen will link up,up front once the option is there and the games become important enough to risk Rooney's foot. The Team is brillant at set pieces and Beckham always has to be feared from 30 yard freekicks, once they start firing on all pistons they will sweep the board... I don't think they will lose a single game on the way to winning the Cup this year, just watch and see...

I was gonna say Australia. I think they deserve to be applauded but I don't think they'll win the Cup.

I vote for Germany!!

History shows that the host has a big chance of winning. After all, Germany has all these young players under the guidance of one of their great players, Juergen Klinsmann. They also have the support of the home crowd, and for sure, the determination to win.

First match against Costa Rica - Germany scored 4 goals, 2 of them were what you'd call .. spectacular.

Germany for me.

Holland is the team I pick. They are strong and aggresive, and would match up well against Brazil. Happy you are an American and watch the World Cup.

However, I'm cheering for USA on Sat. vs Italy.

I'm definately looking to see if Brazil can do it again but I'm also kind of pulling for Germany. As for the United States, I'll be happy if they at least get to advance.

I think Italy but i am not fan of them. They have the best defense and that is half of the win plus they have Luca Toni who was the best scorer in Liga A and in whole Europe(33 goals)and when you think that they have a player like Pirlo... i think they will get very far this year!!!
