...i guess i should prepare myself for those of you who don't know to say something oblivious and completely besides the point just to get attention and to recieve 2 points. please prove me wrong. i really would like to know. i want to know that and anymore about late car payments, repossessions and alternatives. and maybe any stories if you have any.

In most cases it depends on your financial institution and your credit history. If you have liens, collections and wage garnishments, it will be sooner that 60-90 days. It depends on how communicative you are with your funding source. Let them know of any hardships and they may grant you an extension or let you pay some now and the rest by a specific date, like a utility bill.

If you ignore it, that looks the worst, like you are running or hiding.

Usually three months, sometimes two depending on the bank it is financed through. They should send you a letter warning you in most cases.

so I see everyone is saying 3 so that must be it but I would pay them ASAP so it doesnt hurt your credit. someone told me your credit can be hurt if its even a couple days late. I dont know how true that is but you never know.
