Not really. I mean I kinda understand why we call it a "miracle" but let's be honest about this. They were meant to give Birth. A man giving birth would be a mircle. Men weren't meant to give birth though. That is a big qualification to mircles in my opinion. They are something outside the norm at least in some sense. A fast recovery isn't normal so to a degree they are a mircle.
OK if we call Birth a miracle because it starts a new life shouldn't we call CONCEPTION a miracle? That is what STARTS the life, they are alive in the womb.

in antiquity, the only way any civilization can survive is if women give birth to children, and best case scenario both survive.
So the ancients created fertility statues like the lady from Waldorf, it is a small crude figure of a women. But it is believed that societies used to carve these small objects (they had to be small, these were hunting and gathering societies, so no permanent structures) and is believed would sacrifice (burn) the carving to the gods in trade for letting the flesh and blood women survive. This is the only way to build a civilization. Women were cherished, coveted.
Then came the inevitable, men figured out what sperm did. It took them a few thousand years. Don't be that surprised, after all with all the hunting and gathering what are the odds some guy is going to make the association between IT one night and a pot belly 3 months later.
Now society is pretty well established all over the world. We are more educated now. But just the Fact that I can do it and they can't makes it a miracle. they are the big bad strong ones, and yet would die if they had to feel the pain. and if men get to be God's gift, I get my miracle.....lol

I think giving birth falls under the same category as sunsets and such. They're both natural phenomena and beautiful in their own way, but I don't know that something that happens so often can be called a miracle. Well ok, maybe a small miracle. But not like, turning water into wine or something.
In the past childbirth would've been a lot bigger miracle than it is today, because it was less common for babies and/or mothers to survive long enough for it to happen, and to survive the experience itself. This doesn't mean it's not meaningful AT ALL anymore, just that it's more certain.

I don't think the women themselves should be considered a *miracle* Do you mean the act of giving birth? If so, then yes. Although it happens every second of every day in every place in the world, the birth of any and every child is a miracle.

The miracle is life. I still am amazed that a human being, or any other animal can be formed from seemingly nowhere. I watched both of my children come into this world. Forget seeing a woman give birth on TV, in real life it is incredible. Yes, we were meant to reproduce, but where does "LIFE" come from? That is the profound question. Birth is a miracle.

Nah, it's a natural process that happens each day. However, the creation of a complex human life, combining genetic material into a a creature with its own unique attributes is pretty amazing.
