Yes, if you don't rinse with cold water as the hot opens your pores & allows for dirt, oil, etc...to enter. A cold water rinse closes the pores.

No. Showering with really hot water opens your pores. You would probably have MORE acne if you didn't use hot water. Be sure you pat your body and face dry in stead of rubbing it dry. Do not put makeup on for at least 15 minutes after you have dried your face. That gives your pores a chance to close, and you won't clog them with moisturizer and make up.
Talk to your doctor about how to get rid of it.

I would think that the steam would make the acne better. But I don't have a lot of experience with acne. My determatologist recommended Eucerin dry skin repair therapy lotion (the kind with the turquoise cap) for non-facial acne, because apparently that's a whole other condition that really isn't acne. It's caused by the bacteria living on the dry skin, so the Eucerin takes care of the dry skin. Anyway, I bet hot showers are great for your sinuses, though.

Hot water opens the pores so they can be cleaned. After shower you should use some cold water on your face to close the pores to keep dirt out as this is what causes acne.

No. If anything, the hot water would open up the pores and help you clean them more thoroughly.
You should be using a medicated face wash at least twice a day. However, if your acne is bad enough, ask your parents to bring you to a dermatologist. Some medications can help clear up your skin in dramatic (and quick) ways.

no it wouldn't. in fact it would cause exactly the opposite. The heat would cause the acne-causing bacteria to die. Many doctors even recommend that patients with acne problems sit it saunas or steam rooms weekly to keep the bacteria away. The only thing the hot water would cause is red blotchy skin for about 20 minutes after your shower.

Acne is caused by bacteria in your skin pores, stress, changes in your hormonal activities, anabolic steroids, and countless other things, but it is certainly not caused by hot water.
However, hot water does tend to cause dry skin and make you very itchy at times which may be a third party aid to getting acne. But again, as you're a teen, you are going through puberty, and it's normal for many people.
Hope this helps.

Possibly. Cold water closes the pores while hot water opens them and allows for dirt to get in. So before you get out of the shower rinse off with cold water.
