Am I the only fool that buys stuff--taken in by a good deal too good to pass up--and then hardly or very rarely use it? What do you do? Please I want to make this a real survey. Do you really use stuff you buy--or it just gathers dust. SO please everyone answer. There is no right answer. I will give 10 points to the last answer.

When I was young I use to love to get new stuff. One day I realized that the new stuff brought me temporary joy that would wear off quickly. I realized that the stuff rarely changed my life dramatically and I got over my new toy lust.

Although, I do occasionally go ga-ga over something, I try to wait several weeks before I purchase it and in that time the lust often wears away.

Just this past week I have been thinking of things in terms of "event costs". If I buy a car and use it everyday for three years how much am I paying for that car for each day of use. It has been a fun exercise. I have been wondering what is the "event cost" of my laundry. The event cost of the light bulb that is on. The event cost of my gym shoes. It is kind of fun to think about. What if I knew the true cost each time I used something. Good luck!!

Though I probably wont be the last answer, my answer is no. But I call my husband the big ticket guy. He doesn't shop for little items only big ticket stuff. Uses it twice then sits in garage.

Yes. I am guilty as charged for buying things I've used only once and left to rot in a storage closet.

Yes, I'm strict with my money. When I do buy things It's because I need them. It saves me a lot of regret later on.
