Do actors get erections during love scenes?

Sometimes they do... after all, they are trying to create a realistic portrayal of lovemaking. It's only natural that their bodies will respond.

The best quote regarding this subject by the way, was from George C. Scott, who once said to an actress he was shooting a scene with, "I apologize if I get an erection, and I apologize if I don't."

Oh yeah, we're all human. Many actors and actresses ask that love scenes be done without anyone but the cameraman and the director due to this..a...possibility! A LOT of men wear speedo's to help keep things intact!

Models have the same problem! Did you know that it is illegal to photograph a man with an erection. Notice the Playboy Models are completely shown 150%, the in "Playgirl" its just a bunch of guys "hanging" around doing nothing on the page? Wouldn't you like to have a much nicer photo of him? That's why you never will. Illegal, can't do it.

But yes, it can be quite a "problem" for some. And when it happens everybody busts out laughing because a lot of times it can't be....helped?! Nothing you can do, actors laugh and say...a...can I have a few minutes, while the actresses/models try and work around "it", but if you're laying there next to your friend and fellow actor whom has a very nice erection you can't get so close to continue the love scene anyway. More laughter...waiting a few minutes.........

Many actors wear a special pouch over their nuggies to prevent just such an occasion. It's flesh-colored and covered with makeup. Wearing a patch is preferable to meeting the actress' boyfriend in your trailer after the 20th take of a steamy love scene.

Spending your time in such close quarters with the Scarlett Johanssons of the world might cause some arousal at first, but the rest of the experience is usually so technical and stress-filled that you'd forget all about her obvious charms. After a few hours of simulated bumping and grinding, while trying to get out your lines and not screw up the blocking, most actors are ready to call it a day.

I was a porn actor in the late 80's early to mid 90's-- I had trouble getting an erection during SEX Scenes.. We had young ladies that would preform certain acts on us during cuts.. It's tuff with all those people around. A few and I mean a very few guys could do it, they showed up with a hard on... But not many of us. So I guess maybe it happens to actors in hollywood

I doubt it...even with a beautifull woman like Salma Hyake, coould you get one while theres about 30 blokes wandering around and at least 3 of em with cameras up in your face, lights blazing and some lunatic shouting "action"? Plus you do something often enough and it starts becoming mundain and boring if you know what I mean and after about 20 takes you'd propably just be tired and annoyed...LOL and cold, they keep those studios fairly chilled because of the lights and equipment all over the place

I think it depends on the chemistry, the actual scene (some of them are not hot), and your personal involvement in the character. some actors get inot it and some see it only as a job, analytical and all that.
