I'm not a doctor or nurse, but I think it's right about in the middle of you cycle. For example, if it's 28 days between your periods, you would ovulate around the 14th day. Your husband should abstain from sexual activity a few days before then to build up his sperm count. After you have sex, stay flat on your back for an hour or so. Some people say it helps to put your feet up on the wall or otherwise elevate your feet. You may also see that your secretions become thicker around the middle of your cycle. That's a sign of ovulation. Don't be tense or attack this like a science project. Sometimes it happens when you're on vacation and not thinking about it. There's all kinds of advice your doctor can give to you. You could look up "the rhythm method," which is a form of birth control," but you could use it the other way.

The best time to conceive is when your cervical fluid (sometimes referred to as "cervical mucous") is the texture of egg white-- slippery, clear, and stretchy. You should be able to stretch it into a string between your fingertips.

Counting days from the end of your period may or may not be helpful. as day 14 is only a population average for ovulation. Some women ovulate on day 10, some on day 18 or day 21 or whatever. What matters is knowing your fertility signs, such as being able to spot fertile quality cervical fluid. For further reference you should look up "Fertility Awareness Method" or "Natural Family Planning" on the internet (these are NOT the same as the rhythm method).

well there are ovualtion kits you can try im doing them now and they are great !!! you buy them at the drug store or any shop that sells pregnancy stuff... you buy an ovulation kit for 5 days it comes with 5 peeing cups and 5 tests you do one test a day for 5 days at the same time every day.... it sort of looks like a pregnancy test but for ovualtion.... it comes up positive when you are at your highest and that means you are going to ovulate in 24 - 36 hours so you have sex on the day you get a positive and the day after....its worked for alot of women thats just an easier thing to try so that when you know you are most fertile you can plan a romantic evening and just enjoy the night instead of worrying the WHOLE month about making sure that you and your husband had sex on certain days so goodluck and for the future CONGRATS

Jennifer, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 5 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

five months is nothing, wait a few years and if you haven't gotten pregnant, then go see a doctor about some help. I got pregnant after trying for four years, and there was nothing wrong me or my husband, it just took time.

http://www.babycenter.com/calculators/ov...

I used the link above, it took us a month.

Have you had him checked? So many things can contribute to difficulty conceiving...If he wears briefs, smokes, is stressed, smokes marijuana, drinks excessively or is overweight..all of these things can contribute to difficulty in impregnating a woman.

Same goes for you ...if you partake or suffer from any of those listed above...you may be "able" but have difficulty concieving.
