The FACT is that Limewire (or any other FREE, file-sharing service) IS illegal. People lose money, and that's considered stealing.

It is illegal.
However I believe what you are asking is if people believe it to be moral.
If that is the case then I would say yes. Music is art and is created for the masses. Why would an artist be angered by someone appreciating his work? How can someone making minimum wage or some kid on a five dollar allowance feel guilty for downloading an album they otherwise could not afford?

Limewire is not illegal.

Downloading copyrighted files with any program is illegal

Enough money has been made off the stuff they put on the network already, it's ok if people want to share them with others or download. That being said it probably is illegal, but I use it so oh well, free stuff.

So, floof88, is it or isn't it, or did you just want 2 points?

Anyway, the answer is, if you're not paying for it, it's illegal.

My opinion does not determine legality. Right now I would use the service if I wanted what they provide.

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to this question, or don't have anything positive to contribute to your quest. I do thank you for the 2 points.
