I hate that too. I come up with a style of my own, a skirt I took my time choosing. Then perhaps I add a hair do and before I know it, all the chicks are wearing the same thing.
I hate that, emulation is so sad.
It just shows people lack from a creative imagination to come up with their own ideas.

You know, it is because people are afraid to break out on thier own. It's a catch 22 really. You are judged on how you look, what you wear, how you speak etc., No one wants to be different. Since everyone is afraid to be different, they follow each other and become the same essentially. Another reason is that once a trend is started, you can only find those things in the stores. Have you ever shopped with the girls? Every store has the same stupid style, it kind of forces you to make a choice. Follow the rest of the sheep or be the black sheep. Hope I made some sence. :)

They think if they wear what the "popular" clothes they will be better. the truth is, the "popular" clothes are usually boring, not cute, and only in style with the "popular" people. There are so many things that aren't really cute, but they sell them still. you need to go online and find some real cute clothes. try the website below for original and adorable clothes. i get their catalogue too.

Because people are usually lame.
A few years ago, I noticed this amusing thing: Most women in their late teens/early 20's fell into one of 3 categories:
1) J-Lo-look-alikes
2) Kelly Osbourne-look-alikes
3)Brittany Spears-look-alikes
It just goes to show you how lame they are. It's so much sexier to have your own look, and especially NOT to wear those stupid hip-hop hats (that so many people seem to have their avitars wearing!)

people don't want to stand out. they want to be "cool" because they're afraid of being different. all the girls in my class dressed the same. they all wear either big sweaters with a random highschool logo or a frimpy white sweater that ties in front plus a mini skirt or ripped jeans. i think they are all like little lambs, unable to think for themselves...so sad...

i have no idea but i noticed that too at school. there are a few people who look different but thats only because we dont care for the 'in stuff' and go thrift stores for outfits that are nice but look different too. otherwise people wear sweatshirts faded jeans and flipflops with big shoulder bags to match here.

Revolting isn't it.
Keeping with the IN crowd "STYLE" may do more damage to our society, than what we actually realise.
We can't do anything on our own, we all need to change our attitudes towards life...
