Nobody put a gun to your head and told you to order the greasy food! I eat greasy and unhealthy food cause it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I know damn well that it's unhealthy.
So why do people think that it's the restaurants fault?

I want to open a restaurant real soon called "Fry Me A River"
We will only serve deep fried food and drinks. The combo meals will be named for the caloric content. Such as the "4000 Combo" or the "5500 Combo"
I would make everybody who came into my restaurant sign a waiver not to ever sue.

Because blaming someone else is always more fun than shouldering responsibility for your own actions. Just ask the President.

I don't think that is truely the case. Most people realize that they are ultimately responsible. However, I do have issue with portion size which has gotten out of hand. Most places provide 2-4 times as much as they should and then charge accordingly! We are paying many times what we should for food but if we don't eat all of what they give us we feel guilty. Resturants started this by trying to cater to people wanting "more for their money" and thus portions kept growing. That is certainly our fault for buying into and supporting this idea but the resturants should offer smaller, normal sizes at reasonible cost and then just sell greater portions as needed. It is a cycle really. Both parties are partially to blame for this unhealthy trend and both parties reinforce that cycle further.

The answer is simple. Fewer and fewer people are willing to take personal responsibility for their actions. It's much easier to blame others for their shortcomings. It has become an American tragedy.
I read today that a Nanny who was captured on a hidden camera shaking a baby and causing it harm is suing the hidden camera manufacturer because she got caught.
We're a nation of victims. I'm convinced that there is a remnant of real men and women left who are willing to take responsibility for their actions. We should mock these idiots ruthlessly until they change their ways.

Dude, the probem is the fact that if you hide the facts from people, than say that your food is nutritious, that is when you get into trouble. McFood is some of the worst food for anyone to eat on a regular basis, but the fact is that not alot of people know this; know that the food at McD's is loaded with sugar, because McD's goes through millions of dollars to make sure that you think that their food is nutritious, healthy, and safe to eat on a regular basis.

people blame the restaurants for their bad health because they are looking for an excuse to say well i went to this restaurant and they didn't have anything healthy on the menu so it is the restaurants fault why they have bad health. people blame restaurants because they are just simply looking for an excuse and something to put the blame on rather than themselves. the truth is if they really and truly wanted to be in good health and wanted to eat healthy they would have the determination and wouldn't go to restaurants with greasy foods.

Because they are fat lazy and stupid and they don't take the blame for anything in any aspect of their lives. You are right, no one MADE them eat 15 chicken sandwiches and drink a gallon of soda!
My boyfriend once owned a small truck with a cap. He was walking out to his car in a parking lot when he noticed it was moving back and forth. As he neared the rear of the truck he could hear grunting and groaning. He peered around the side of the truck to find a rotund obese woman who had somehow wedged her fat body between his truck and the car next to it. She jerked back and forth trying to free herself, and as she finally broke free from her restraints, she left a big dent in his passenger side door. Needless to say, she didn't own up to it or pay for the repair.

Today, most people are not accountable for their own actions. The woman who sued McD's when she spilled hot coffee on herself and blamed McD's because nothing on the cup told her it was hot coffee.
People trying to make a quick buck without the effort. As stated earlier - laziness.

because people r not happy unless they r blaming someone else for there problems. and what better way to do this . we have became a money hungry country . so we blame , sue , and get paid by the restaurants who did not create our problems to begin with. it was us and us alone. sad isnt it.
