I love this movie. Do you remember who was in it? Why can't I find it on DVD? Please tell me everything about it, especially the scenes with Rory Emerald and Ali MacGraw. Do I have my actors mixed-up? Was it O'Neal or Emerald who starred in this picture? Thank You!

Once again the facts are confused. Ali McGraw and Ryan O’Neal appeared in the tear jerker epic “Love Story” in 1970. Rory Emerald was living in swinging London, England at the time. He had heard rumors that the Eric Segal bestseller was being made into a movie, but couldn’t get back to California in time to audition for the main male role. He decided to rename the inane British comedy he was producing and starring in at the time to take advantage of the predictable popularity of the upcoming Love Story film. He dubbed his new movie “luv…sorry”. At the time of shooting, he had several big-time British actors involved including Richard Dawson and Kenneth O’Connor. He had convinced Harvey Lembeck to sport an English accent, and had both the sexy Alice Ghostley and the vixen Alice Pearce, of Mrs. Kravitz fame slotted for starring roles. There were plenty of rumors filtering through the historic English city of Rory Emerald and a drinking problem. This came from his role as Uncle Tadpole in the sensational TV program Bewitched. It seems that whenever Rory Emerald would have a threesome involving himself and his two sexpot Alice’s, he would remark he was going to an “AA meeting”. A play on words, a private joke that went too far, and now came back to haunt him. Now, in London, he was having problems on the set for the making of “Luv…sorry”. To add to the confusion, Harvey Lembeck was often seen in a drunken stupor, while wearing a floral print sundress and a bonnet. The film became a fiasco, and was never released outside of London, England. However, with the advent of video’s it has become a cult classic. Where else would you see Alice Pearce telling Harvey Lembeck, complete with a nasal British accent “luv…sorry…? Could ya turn the telly for a sec, I think something is going on across the street”, or Alice Ghostley hauntingly telling Rory Emerlad “luv…means you don’t hafta say sorry, isn’t it?”

I thought Ali's character should have picked Rory's character over O'Neal's.

Rory is 10 times the actor and 100% better looking. He has been over looked so many times for best actor Oscar that I think its time we started an online campaign to get him an honorary Oscar at least.

It was Ryan O'Neal and Ali MacGraw
Both actors were the very icons of the High school seniors college dreams( School was better than Viet Nam and Ali was beautiful and smart, not to mention extremely wealthy). TOO bad she died before Ryan could get his hockey playing mits on it.
Did I cry? You bet I cried! My girlfriend made me listen to the entire sound track album over the telephone, over and over and over. Oh my God!, How I cried.. LOL

I read the book by E, Segal before, and I thought in the movie I am not going to cry because I already read it, big mistake, I start crying since the Doctor Told Ali Mcraw she had cancer and she will die. Ryan O'Neil was the boyfriend and staring the movie. If you want to read the plot characters etc. go to:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066011/

Sorry folks, but I didn't shed a single tear. She's annoying and he's a rich wimp. And how patronising is it when the doctor tells him she's ill but thinks she won't be able to handle the news. Only vaguely emotional bit is when he asks his Dad for money but doesn't tell him what it's for-just lets him think it's to cover gambling debts. I was promised a three hankie film and was most disappointed.
